Daydreamer

Daddy likes to instill little pods of knowledge into his daughters brain throughout the day. She'll come out of the bath quoting her daddy, "He says: be brave, be strong, be nice!" It's sweet and something I don't think to do. I'm more of a "say please/thank/sorry/be happy/try, try, try" So we have a good balance of our teachings. Today at dinner was a perfect example of just that:

"Lily, it's important to focus when you're doing something."
"Focus?"
"Focus means to think only of what you're doing and not look around or be distracted by others. For example, You really need to focus on walking down the stairs at school."

In which my sweet little Lily Belle replied, "But I want to look at the clouds."

We had a good laugh and a "she's your daughter!" And I thought proudly, oh yes, yes she is. This little girl that loves to learn things but also day dream; that loves to play with choo choo trains and tools but also barbies and dancing. She is a perfect balance of us both and it is a joy to teach her and watch her grow into this inquisitive daydreamer!
